At first, download the copy of the script from our site (the download link is on the index page). Extract it to
any directory in your local computer keeping the directory structure (in WinZIP, make sure the "Use folder names"
checkbox is checked) and then upload it to your server (stt-in.php, stt-install.php, stt-out.php and stt-webmaster.php
should be in the same directory like your site's index page, but it should work when you upload it to a subfolder
too). After you upload all files from the archive, CHMOD the file /stt-includes/connect.php and the directory
stt-toplist to 777 (see your FTP client's help if you don't know how to do it). Now, go to http://www.*yourdomain.com*/stt-install.php,
read the license and fill the form:
MySQL info
Your host should provide you with your MySQL username, password and host and it often creates one database for you
and provides you with its name. MySQL username and password are often the same as your FTP info and the host
is often 'localhost' (without the quotes).
Security
Enter desired username and password you want to use for logging in to your admin area. Something nonsene like
'potiramew' or 'u726jx12' is the best. Do not enter any easy-to-guess passwords like 'yourdomain.com',
'password', 'yourname' etc.
Settings
See
chapter 2.3.4. if you need help with settings.
Now click the "Install SmartTrafficTrader" button. It may take a while to create all the needed db tables, so please
do not press the button twice. Right after the installation is completed, delete stt-install.php from your server
for security reasons. Then login to your admin area at http://www.*yourdomain.com*/stt-admin/ with the username
and password you chose during the installation
add some trades and modify your
site (see chapter 1.3.).
